BES Autumn Colloquium & AGM 2022

REMEMBERING JOYCE REYNOLDS

The BES Autumn Colloquium 2022 took place on 19 November.
It was dedicated to the memory of Joyce Reynolds.

The death of Joyce Reynolds on 11 September 2022, at the age of 103, has led many of us to realise how much we owe her, and what she contributed to our studies. The Society (of which Joyce was the first president) has therefore decided to dedicate this meeting to her memory. Joyce was also president of the Roman Society in the 1980s, and the meeting was therefore held jointly.
Speakers, sharing their memories of Joyce, included Ségolène Demougin, Catherine Dobias-Lalou, Richard Gordon, Tessa Rajak, Brent Shaw, Charlotte Tupman and Onno van Nijf.
